Those eyes....

The Climb

I feel like every blogger has that "I'm Back" post. I never had, but I need once because it has been, oh my, two and a half months? Well we all know this won't the last post like this. Anyways, I realized that close to no one has seen the mountain pics fro Redcloud because all the pictures were from a pregnant lady's camera, who surprisingly didn't go on the hike. Ha. When climbing the Handy's (A 14-er as they would say aka 14,000 feet elevation) only about half or less of the group got to peak it because a storm rolled in. I didn't get to, but there are still some beautiful pictures.

Back of the line... *huff puff*

Snow in June

Hey look a marmot! Our counselors were actually trying to call to it, and got very close to succeeding!

Swimming With Some Cuties

Not sure if she wants to go in the pool...
So complex! : )
This big girl even swam by herself with floaties! That is very impressive for a girly her age! Very proud of miss Georgia! Don't mind Rachel's feet. That's kinda gross.

"I'm not cold, I'm just warm." She would've stayed out a lot longer, but her teeth were chattering. So in we came!  It's so much fun whenever we get to babysit these girls!

Camp Redcloud: The People

Pretty much all 'o yall (my Squeakers slang) know that I went to Lake City, CO, to go to Camp Redcloud. Soo since pretty much anyone who would read this blog has either seen all of my pictures, went with me to RC, or has seen the slideshow at church. So why see all the pictures again from a different angle? Honestly I really just don't feel like having this big 'ol post about stuff everyone has heard. I do have one piece of advice for the Sr. Highers who go this week. Exercise. Long and hard. I did the treadmill for a forty minute program thing like four times a week and I still was huffing and puffing by the time I would get to  the cabin. Let alone the what felt like eight hour hike. up a 14er. So exercise long, hard, and often. But other than that you'll have an absolute ball! Another highlight for me was my friend and I (Janie) renamed everyone we hung out with at camp. When I say renamed, I mean what we would call them if their name wasn't Janie or whatever. Hence the name : Camp Redcloud: The People. Let the pictures begin!
Zach (our Youth Pastor ) AKA- Bear
Rob (Youth Leader) AKA- (Our name for him) Benny or Benjamin. He insisted we call him Rob. Not going to happen Rob. So we compromised with Trebor and Bor.
Janie/Amelia (Friend ) Faith-Dawn . Not just Faith. Not just Dawn. Faith-Dawn.

First of all, I loove this picture. It would be absolutely perfect if it wasn't for the piece of hair in Faith-Dawn's face. Now, get rid of Faith-Dawn in your brain for a second. Rachel (Youth Pastor's wife, soon to be momma, girlfriend, and leader wrapped up in one. I know, pretty esteemed. Her name was Ray- Ray. Or maybe it was Heather... : / )
Eric (Pac-Man. At camp, the counselors give each other nicknames. He got his by climbing a tree with his teeth. Wow. Those were my sunglasses if you were wondering. Counselor and friend. AKA Drew )
Love this picture of Tina- she wasn't even posing. ( High school Senior Leader). (She would've went on the Sr. High trip but she was busy when that takes place. So she was a leader with us. Really fun and awesome person to be like a big sister.:) AKA Kellephanie. We couldn't deide between Kelli or Stephanie. Kellephanie.
Joel - (Friend ) AKA Cheese.( He has had that nickname far longer than the RC trip. Nothing came to us. At All. )
This is the only picture I have of him, but the highschool aged guy in the black beanie and khakis is Pine Sol (Dominic, for miss K), a counselor. He got his name because he smack dab into a tree while mountain biking. AKA- Eli.) This is
unrelated but this picture was taken at my birthday dance party. :)

I forgot about me. Sammie (Me) AKA -Maddie. I don't see it but i guess I look like a Maddie? It must be those glasses. : )

Okay so here are all the nicknamed people I have pictures of.If you think you have better names for the people I have listed, leave it below in the comments. I will try this week to get the hike pictures up here because they weren't on the slideshow at church. :) I might just get this over in chunks.'Til the next chunk...

At Least There Will Be Something Stylish

I am going to Camp Redcloud in Lake City, Colorado this Saturday, so we are trying to check off some things on the to-bring list. 17 hour drive. In a 15 people van filled with 14 people. Over my birthday. Rachel is also gone the same week at Pine Lake. My dad is in Arkansas working too for the next two weeks. I just am a pessimist , nothing to be done with that. I just need to keep reassuring myself that He is there and it will be awesome. I'm also very excited that I will be taking my nice camera and I am super excited about the beautiful mountains. All the past week we've been buying active wear. -Broken-in hiking boots is a must.- The List. I just can't push myself to getting hiking boots. They are soooo ugly. There is no such thing as a stylish pair of hiking boots, but this camping experience won't be chic couture. So suck it up Sammie. Sigh.

Summer Already?

I know I haven't had much 'words' lately, and this post is long overdue. We got out of school on May 24th and have been kicking in relaxation ever since. It feels really nice to be able to sleep into 11:30 ish each day! I know that some of you are thinking oh my goodness how can she do that?!?! There are things to be done you say? Staying up super late each night helps. I think that everyone just needs a good two weeks to just settle down from a long year. We don't have too much planned this summer: visit family, go to camp in Colorado (over my birthday! :)), work on a church project, VBS, and at the end of summer have voice lessons to try out for Opus, an all state choir. Soo excited for everything to come this summer! Just letting everybody know what's going on with me this summer ;)

Quote for Carly

Those moments that you just say something to respond, but spend the rest of the day regretting what you said or didn't say, and thinking of other things you could've done to make that moment count. I ask myself 'What is the point if the moment has come and gone?'

Carly, now you can go to bed :)

H.E. Poetry

Okay, so if you've ever been in an Honors English class, you might have had alot of projects. That is exactly what we do in my class. Projects, projects, projects. We just finished up a poetry project. (I know, yuck) That is exactly what I was thinking when we first got our rubrics. We had to select 3 poems that we liked and print them off. Easy. Then we had to write three of our own pertaining specific formats and titles. I will show you exactly what i wrote down for brainstorming.
Location: Church, school, arena, middle of nowhere, lost.
Emotion: Alone, empty, overjoy that doesn't come often, death and leaving loved ones, being trapped in a crack of splitting. (That last one made total sense to me when I wrote it down, but afterwards, I was like 'What the heck did I mean by that?' :) )
Activity: Reading(getting lost in a book), Singing.
Now here's what I came up with, and these poems don't have titles.

Church is where I'd rather be,
Everyday if I could.
The one place that calms me,
Even though its fireplace never burns wood.

Two times a week comes my family and me,
It never feels more than we should.
Church is where I always want to be,
It never gets old, but is never quite new.
(That last line didn't fit, but my H.E. teacher said it was fine because he couldn't think of anything either.)

In a different world everyday,
Individually fighting crimes and being crowned a queen.
Inviting dragons over to play,
Into a world of books; to read the lines between.

When out of this world I am thrown,
Why my different lives come to an end.
Why I'm disrupted isn't unknown, for
When I read I must be alone.

(And my personal favorite)

An empty void I often feel,
Unsure whether to try and figure it out.
No purpose to fufill is real,
This feeling inside-out.

This nothingness I am paralyzed from,
Still doesn't quite make sense,
No gong on a drum,
No therapy fragrance,
Can relieve me from this state of mind.

My life doesn't away from me peel,
I still have my conscience without a doubt.
My brain back to wiring and steel,
It seems like water again surrounds this trout.

All it takes is a spontaneous snap.
A twitch of awareness, a sense of react.
To bound me out of this mind-trap.
And that, my friends, is a fact.

Yes, I Know...

Yes, I am aware that I have a huge big bar of  green blocking my background, and aware that I have two titles.I am also aware that my banner is not centered. This is a work in progress. Even though my dad is a employed nerd (meaning he's a nerd for a job, not that he's a nerd with a job), he is not equipped in the Blogger category. Oh well, neither am I. But he got way farther than I ever would've. Gotta love technically enhanced daddies. I will soon ask someone who I know already has one of these and she if she has advice. For now, please bare with the quirks as we must often in life. :)

Froggies in The Fridge

We left with 73 little froggies and came home with zero. I guess the little Sparks and T and T's really liked them!

2 Hr Late Start

What a pleasant start to the day! Being me, I immediately took pictures.

These pictures were all taken indoors. I did say indoors, thanks to my new zoom lens.
